Sanjiv Narayan

Stanford University Medical Professor Dr. Sanjiv M. Narayan

A cardiologist in California with over two decades of experience, Sanjiv M. Narayan, MD, PhD, serves as a professor of medicine at Stanford University. He has pioneered several bioengineering techniques in the areas of arrhythmia medicine. Sanjiv M. Narayan, MD, performs extensive research activities at the university, focusing on advances in digital health.

Previously, Dr. Narayan led multiple medical facilities. As a cardiologist, his clinical focus has primarily revolved around atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and complex ablation.

Dr. Narayan is a fellow of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. He also maintains membership with The Royal College of Physicians in London and Bio-X, Stanford's interdisciplinary biosciences institute.

After training in medicine and neural network software engineering in the United Kingdom, Dr. Narayan completed computational neuroscience training at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Laboratory of Neuroimaging. While training at UCLA, he created an optical mapping and image processing workstation to research the somatosensory cortex. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano and swimming.
